Antique Japanese Meiji Blue & White Porcelain Charger with Karako Scene - 25cm
A beautifully hand-decorated Japanese blue and white porcelain charger dating to the late Meiji period (circa 1880 -1900). This decorative wall plate features an intricate scene of playful Karako (Chinese-inspired children) surrounded by flowering branches, pine trees, and a central landscape medallion depicting a bird beneath a pine tree. The finely executed cobalt blue decoration reflects the elegance and craftsmanship of Japanese export porcelain produced for the Western market during the late 19th century.
The reverse bears a traditional underglaze blue kiln mark and is fitted with a wall hanger, making it ready for display. Whether displayed individually or as part of a collection, this charger brings timeless Asian artistry and antique charm to any interior.
